Introducing Jada

Last year we briefly mentioned that Danja was working with the girl group Jada signed to Universal/Motown. Coming out of Boston, the girls were signed on the spot by Universal/Motown Records CEO Sylvia Rhone (formerly CEO of Missy Elliott's former Elektra Records) after seeing them perform during a private showcase. Since then the girls have been working hard on their debut album coming out early 2009 with their unnamed lead single coming out January 20th.

As it turns out Jada not only worked with Danja, they did 10 tracks with him. Including 4 tracks with The Clutch tracks and 1 with Jim Beanz. Check out the group on NECN preforming one of their Danja/Clutch tracks titled "Denial"

Sounds like Nikki Flores "Painkiller" part II doesn't it? The girls can sing and they definitely have the harmonizing down which isn't always any easy thing to master in a group. I'm looking forward to hearing what else Danja and the girls came up with. Recognize that accapella? Who did it better?

Make sure to stop by their myspace page and give the group some love. Props to Bigmac on the video.

  2. danja and the clutch man what a collabo, hope they bringin some fire for Keri's album. It does have that painkiller part 2 vibe to it though. And I love Pain killer by the way.

  5. This is going to be a case of a hot album where Danja does the damn thing and comes correct at his end; but for whatever reason the shit won't pop and it'll sell badly and get no mainstream love. Just like Katharine McPhee's debut, Red carpet massacre and Blackout. As well as Nikki Flores now shelved album. I LOVED the hell out of "Beautiful boy" and "Suffocate".

I wish Danja would reserve his hot beats for acts who are actually in a position and a point in their career to sell really big. It pisses me off how his hottest songs are usually the ones which go un-noticed by so many.

  7. danja danja danja... did the damn thing. It's not Katharine McPhee or anything, but it's alright. I hope this does not end up like T.I.'s album where Danja does tracks that never show up anywhere (10 tracks!!!)

  8. Wow I have so much respect for danja. At first when I heard that he was timbalands protoge and heard the hype timbaland had for him I did not believe it. I thought that nobody could continue timbalands sound I did not want to here some timbaland rip off or a pretender to tims crown.

I was wrong though I like danjas sound I especially like it when he works towards his own sound! the songs are tighter, some songs he done with the clutch have been very timbalandish and I feel like nobody can do that timbaland, Playa, thebasement sound this is most evident with songs like Katherine McPhee's "neglected".

I think most people would agree most of the best songs Danja,Keri Hilson and the clutch have done are songs without timbaland, lets face it Aaliyah died, Static died the timbaland sound is dead but that doesn't mean there isn't hope for the future, as danja and the rest of the new timbacrew are proving.

  9. They sound pretty damn nice. No comment on their wardrobe/styling, but homegirls can sing. And the song is pretty pretty too. Them/Danja are just...swell!

  11. well i'm certainly not hyped based on this track... but, think about probability. Danja can't possibly fuck up on 10 out of 10 tracks. if you were to ask me, I could give a shit about Jada
